Fun Filled Scrappin' Saturday

Happy Friday!

I have everything packed up and ready to bring down the steps to load in the car. As Mike would say--I have everything but the kitchen sink ready to take with me for a day of scrappin tomorrow. My best friend and best "rent-a-mom" are having a "scrapbooking day" for me before my wedding. I'm not having a shower so, we thought this would be fun so that my friends could help my wedding album out by making a page for it!

I have three or four projects I'm taking to work on. I'm so excited to get a full day off work and do what I love! I had a nice relaxing afternoon --my boss let me leave at 1:00 today so that I could go get Mike's b-day present and then take him to get a pedicure (he desperately needed it!) and then we went to dinner.

now it's time to wake him and the dog up and go to bed. I'll post more later!

Have a fabulous weekend.

I got to scrapbook!!

It was our monthly scrapbooking outing Friday evening and all day on Saturday I was able to work on Wedding invitations on Friday (got about 1/2 way done) and then on Saturday I worked on my WE R Memory Keepers 6x12 album and was able to get it finished. I used my friends Life's a Beach Cricut Cartridge and I think I may just have to put that on my wish list now. It was PERFECT for the album! I can't wait to get it listed on Etsy. I was also able to get started on another Bo Bunny Chipboard book using the DCWV Green Stack.

Today, we have to load up the un-sold garage sale stuff and take it to my mom--my aunt is having a garage sale next weekend so, we are going to hope our luck is better down there than it was here!

Have a great day!

Busy Day

Last night I actually got to scrapbook for an hour! I got the "bones" completed on my latest board book. I'm using one of the new Little Yellow Bicycle Chipboard Books with Acryclic Cover with the Archiver's Exclusive We R Memory Keepers Summer Paper. It is super cute--can't wait to finish it.

Tonight I went to my house and loaded up some more garage sale stuff. With Mike gone, I can't work out in the garage because the dog just sits in the house and cries. So, I have a feeling I'll have to wait until I have help on Thursday night to get everything done! I always work better under pressure anyways!!!

I am going to get off of here and catch the dog to put her to bed and hopefully go upstairs and scrap a little!

Oh my Back!

So, I had to work from 11-3 today but, I woke up and could barely move my back was hurting so bad. Luckily we weren't busy so I got to go home an hour early (thank goodness)!

We were supposed to move my dresser to Mike's house once he got off work and were on the way to do that when he got a call for his "real job" (it was his week to be on call for the weekend).

So, no dresser, no garage sale stuff priced and only about 3 hours of "work" time tomorrow before Mike has to head to St. Louis for training. I think my nerves are going to be shot by the end of the week getting ready for the garage sale and having the dog all by myself for the week! Lord help me! Hopefully I will have some "free" time to scrapbook (ha ha). I may be getting up in the middle of the night to work a little!

New Adventure

So, I decided to sucumb to the world of blogging to see what it was all about!

To start out my blog, I'll post a little about me and my world!

My addiction started in 2004…
When my dad passed away in May of 2004, there was a huge hole in my heart that I had no clue how to heal! A few weeks later on a Saturday, my aunt invited me to a “girls” day of stampin’ and scrappin’. I told her “I’ve never done that before”. She said, “Don’t worry, everyone will let you use their things and you can make some cards or a scrapbook page!”. Well, I went and I loved it. After that I become ADDICTED!
In October of 2004, I started spending much of my free time visiting with my cousin Amy, (we are only 2 months apart in age and have always been like sisters), and her new baby Lauren. Amy, Bob (her husband) and Lauren let me become part of their family by being “Aunt Mandy” to Lauren.
My first scrapbooking project I decided to do was Lauren’s scrapbook. It was a HUGE success and a wonderful learning process! Lauren turned five in April and I am almost finished with her first two years. And she got a brand new baby sister last August. Lilly will turn one on August 2nd and I haven’t even started on her album!

When I first started working on Lauren’s book and looking at all of the pictures Amy and Bob had taken of Lauren, I realized that my mom, dad, sister and her family had taken hardly any pictures for the past 7 or 8 years of our family together. I vowed to myself that my next task was to start scrapbooking memories so that when my children came, I would have memories of “Papa Tom” and the rest of our family to share with them and to start taking more pictures now.
Stampin’ and scrappin’ hasn’t filled the hole in my heart but, it has helped ease the pain by letting two brand new lives become such a huge part of my daily life.

Almost two years ago, I met a wonderful guy named Mike and we are actually getting married this August in Gatlinburg! We are in the process of combining two households (we both have our own house), fixing my house up to be able to put it up for sale as well as trying to plan our wedding! So, this has left LITTLE time for me to scrapbook (which is really sad). As soon as I get my wedding reception invitations finished and mailed out, I have promised myself that I WILL find at least ½ hour on my nights off to scrapbook or make something! Mike has finally warmed up to my "crap" aka scrapbooking supplies taking over the computer room and it is now offically called the scrapbook room. And he is even taking interest in learning how to work my Cricut (the best thing ever created for scrapbookers)--so that he can cut out the Cars characters (who knows what he plans on doing with them but, I'm not complaining since he wants to learn!).

My goal is to get more of my chipboard books made and post them on Etsy. I currently have two on there right now and am going to work on updating my Etsy site.

Time to go to bed--have a 17 hour day of work tomorrow!! Until next time...
